Garden Loungers

Luxury Sun Loungers
Sitting back in my fine red rattan chair
With summer fast approaching it is time to start planning some good old fashion back yard lounging time. All winter long we have looked out our windows and the driving snow and wished we were sitting in our back yards, margarita in hand, relaxing in the sun. Well, now the time has come, as they say in the song, and it the sun is beckoning us to take our shoes off, kick back, and just relax.
But I have found that there is a big difference between lounging chairs and it pays to find just the right one for you. Let’s take a look at several varieties of sun loungers that can be a focal point for your back yard deck or patio. All it takes is a bit of time and some online browsing to find the one for you.

  • Cheap plastic- okay this may be fine for the kids but you are a grownup now. Also, this may be okay for taking along on a camping trip, a day at the beach or sitting back and listening to the local orchestra at a concert in the park.
  •
  • Wrought Iron garden chairs – Fine for dumping those old pots on but don’t try sitting in them for any real length of time. They do look great when spray painted crazy bright colors and scattered around the garden, but I almost never sit in them.
  •
  • Wicker garden furniture – If you don’t have cats, these are fabulous looking for the garden or patio. I happen to love the luxury sun loungers because you can stretch out and really feel comfy. These are true adult furniture for your deck or patio.
  •
  • Mom’s old couch – Okay I had to put this one in here because although it tends to get smelly and damp pretty fast no matter what I do, I have from time to time experimented with moving an old indoor couch out to my patio. It feels really great the first month but unless you live somewhere that has no humidity at all, it eventually get rot and mildew. Yuck!

So there you have it – my suggestions for different ways to lounge around this summer with a book in one hand and a nice cold margarita in the other. To me, there is no better way to enjoy the summer then to sit around the old back yard, enjoying that golden weather. It will turn grey and cold soon enough, let’s enjoy it while it lasts!
